📢 Patch Notes #1

Hello everyone!

I’m excited to release the first major update that I’ve been working on over the past few days.

Originally, this project started with three people, but I’ve decided to continue development and fix what I could by myself. It’s been a lot of work, but I wanted to make sure players have a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

This update brings bug fixes, new features, and quality-of-life improvements. I’ve also attached the old version of the game for reference, while the new version is now live on the main page.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Void Trigger
    Players will now correctly see the death scene when falling into the void.
    ⚠️ Note: sometimes it still glitches, letting players walk around in the void but, new recovery features let you get back on track without restarting the game.

  • Collision
    Previously, if you changed from red → blue inside a red object or vice-versa, you’d instantly die or lose 2 lives. Now, you only lose 1 life.

  • Start Timer
    The trigger area for the start timer was too small, allowing players to bypass it and start near the end. This has been fixed (though it may still rarely happen)

New Features & Changes

🗺️ Map Updates

  • Added new obstacles to make speedrunning more challenging.

⌨️ New Keybinds

  • Restart → Press R to instantly restart (great for speedruns or void recovery).

  • Pause → Press ESC or P to open the pause menu.

🎵 Background Music

  • The in-game background track has been replaced with one that better fits the atmosphere.

🛠️ Menus & UI

  • Main Menu → Redesigned UI + background music.

  • Settings Menu → Adjust music volume, view keybinds, toggle fullscreen.

  • Pause Menu → Resume, Restart, Quit, or Return to Main Menu.

  • Death Menu → Improved UI + sound effect.

  • Winning Menu → Now includes two buttons: Give Up and Continue Playing.

⚠️ Known Issues

  • Music volume can be adjusted, but sound effects don’t yet have a separate volume slider.

  • Unity bug: after triggering the death scene, music might reset to 100% volume.
